A beautiful meal is the work of many hands: the maker of the menu, the crafter of the food, the setter of the table. When shared with loved ones, the nourishment is as spiritual as it is physical. Make your table a visual feast with hand-spun, hand-woven, and hand-embroidered personalized table napkins. As part of your bid, you will work with Brooklyn-based embroidery artist Chika Cuy to make a unique, original, and usable conversation piece for your dinner parties.The napkins are made by Auntie Oti, a textile company which started in 2011 with the mission to spotlight traditional "non-designed" everyday Indian items; blankets and shawls, towels and napkins, men's lungis and women's saris-made from khadi: fabric made from hand-spun yarn by craftspeople in small, government-sponsored hand weaving groups all across the country.
Your choice of embroidery by Chika Cuy can be up to two square inches and draw from her existing designs or one you create together.
